There are many reasons to love Lisbon: the sunny weather, the (rightfully so) famous Pastel de Natal, and the amazing beaches nearby. But the city is much more than that, offering some great spots to eat, drink, shop and have a good time.

From trendy “tascas” and Italian flavors to hip bars and relaxing gardens with stunning views of the city, discover our team’s favorite gems to have a good time like a true local.

Where to eat

O Velho Eurico

Largo São Cristóvão 3

It doesn’t get much more Portuguese than O Velho Eurico, an authentic “tasca” serving traditional dishes with a modern twist. The ambiance is laid back and cozy, and the menu often changes to surprise us with new flavors and combinations. Make sure to book your table in advance!

Lupita

Rua de São Paulo 79

If mouthwatering pizza is your jam, you’ll surely love Lupita. Considered one of the best (if not the best) pizza spots in the city, this Cais do Sodré gem specialized in slow and natural fermentation pizzas with fresh and local ingredients.

Panda Cantina

Rua Joaquim António de Aguiar 73D

With several locations around the city, from Amoreiras to Campo Pequeno and Baixa, Panda Cantina is a beloved spot offering authentic ramen. The menu is known for its simplicity and unmatched flavor, with just a few ramen varieties to choose from.

Nonna Goes Crazy

Rua de Santo António da Glória 6B

Just a few minutes away from Avenida da Liberdade, Nonna Goes Crazy is one of the coolest spots for fresh and delicious pasta in Lisbon. Grab your favorite combination and have it on the counter or on the outdoor terrace just outside the restaurant.

Dallas Burger

Rua do Forno do Tijolo 26A

With three locations around Lisbon (Cais do Sodré, São Bento and Anjos), Dallas Burger is the perfect joint for a night out with friends. The mouthwatering burgers are 100 percent grass-fed and local, and there are plenty of combinations to choose from, as well as vegetarian options. Don’t forget to order a side of crispy fries!

Where to drink

Musa da Bica

Calçada Salvador Correia de Sá 2A

Located between Bica and Cais do Sodré, Musa da Bica is one of our favorite places to hang out with friends and sample Musa’s artisanal and local beers straight from their Marvila factory. If you get hungry, don’t worry: this joint also serves light and creative food options to pair with your drink of choice.

Boavista Social Club

Rua da Boavista 16

Serving small plates to share, this cool and intimate restaurant is home to natural wines and delicious cocktails. Besides the food and drinks, one of the highlights is the DJ playing vinyl records in the background. The restaurant also turns into a laid-back bar in the late hours, so you can choose to go just for a drink.

O Pif

Rua Maria 43A

Located in the Anjos neighborhood, this cozy space with a pink decoration is made for the wine lover. O Pif serves not only wines from small national producers, but also delicious snacks from cheese to oysters.

Toca da Raposa

Rua da Condessa 45

Founded by Constança Cordeiro, Toca da Raposa is one of the most exciting spots in Lisbon. Here, you can experience a number of exciting cocktails made with seasonal ingredients and transformed by the in-house team into drinks with Portuguese flavors.

ZDB Terrace

Rua da Barroca 59

ZDB (also known as Galeria Zé dos Bois) is the perfect place to experience Lisbon’s artistic side. The terrace offers a stunning view of the neighborhood and is particularly spectacular when the weather starts to get warmer.

Where to shop

+351

Rua da Boavista 81C

If you’re looking for relaxed, everyday pieces, look no further than +351. Inspired by the Atlantic, this Portuguese brand offers colorful wardrobe staples from t-shirts and hoodies to accessories like socks and baseball caps.

Parlamento

Rua da Boavista 182

With two stores in Lisbon (Cais do Sodré and São Bento), Parlamento Lisboa is a true heaven for streetwear lovers. From niche brands to fan favorites like Stussy and Aries, this shopping spot is truly a must visit.

Latte

Rua Nova do Almada 61

Located in the heart of Lisbon’s Chiado area, Latte brings new brands to the city, as well as staples in the streetwear and sportswear industry. From Alpha Industries to Daily Paper and Sanjo, you’ll find lots of cool staples to refresh your wardrobe.

The Feeting Room

Calçada do Sacramento 26

Another Chiado gem, Feeting Room is a concept store that offers a curated selection of local brands, emerging Portuguese designers and renowned international labels. The store has a bit of everything from footwear to clothing and accessories for both men and women.

Embaixada

Praça do Príncipe Real 26

Located in the vibrant and trendy Príncipe Real area, Embaixada is home to several Portuguese brands and artists. The space is located inside the beautiful Palácio Ribeiro da Cunha and focuses on design, fashion, and culture.

Where to relax

Jardim Gulbenkian

Considered an oasis in the center of Lisbon, Jardim Gulbenkian is a favorite among the locals. The rich natural environment and the calm atmosphere invites you to stroll with friends, have a chill picnic under the sun, or sit in the grass with a good book.

Jardim da Estrela

Although its official name is Jardim Guerra Junqueiro, this romantic garden is commonly referred to as Jardim da Estrela. Located right across Basílica da Estrela, it’s the perfect spot for picnics, reading, working out, or having a coffee.

Jardim do Torel

Offering stunning views of the city, Jardim do Torel is the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of Lisbon. This garden is also home to several sculptures and artwork, a basketball court, and even a small outdoor gym.

Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara

This viewpoint is one of the best in Lisbon, offering beautiful views from the Bairro Alto district over to Alfama and the Lisbon Castle. It’s located in a small urban park that serves as a meeting point for friends and family, and it’s also a great spot to watch the sunset.

Ribeira das Naus

This riverside area is a true Lisbon must-visit, offering a unique view of the Tagus river. It’s the perfect place for a morning run, an afternoon stroll, or an end of the day cocktail with friends in the outdoor kiosk.
