What to do in Kennedy Town? We’ve got some top recommendations for dining, entertainment & culture. In Hong Kong, there ain’t no town like K-Town.

Since the extension of the MTR Island Line in 2014, Kennedy Town is no longer an unfamiliar neighbourhood name to most of us, especially if you live on Hong Kong Island. While there is plenty to do and explore (and eat!) in Kennedy Town, here’s our take on a perfect afternoon to rest up and wind down in this unique neighbourhood just 10 minutes away from Central MTR Station.

Start the day with coffee

After a hectic work week, sometimes what we all crave for is just to have a lie in and enjoy a lazy morning.

To make the most of your afternoon, we suggest heading down to Kennedy Town where you can indulge in your first cup of coffee at % ARABICA café on Davis Street. This minimalist coffee shop originated from Japan offers a beautiful panoramic view of the waterfront overlooking Kowloon.

Eat for a guilt-free conscience

Further up Davis Street you can visit Slowood, a zero waste store where you can find all your staples and daily necessities made from eco-friendly and recyclable materials. If you are getting hungry, grab yourself a quick vegan lunch at their café. Their menu ranges from a light salad box to a filling Impossible burger. Slowood will not only leave you more environmentally conscious but also more appreciative of Mother Nature.

Get photoshoot ready

To digest, take a stroll along the waterfront and visit the famous Instagram Pier at Western District PCWA. Here you can get some pretty cool IG-worthy shots with industrial backdrops. Not enough photos to satisfy your followers? Head over to Sai Wan Swimming Shed, another iconic spot for Instagrammers on Victoria Road.

Beer, far, wherever you are

Once the clock strikes beer o’clock, drop by Blotto for a cold pint, sweet and savoury thick toasts, and good vibes. Keeping things interesting, Blotto occasionally hosts pop-ups and chef takeovers (so the menu never stays the same for too long) and quiz nights.

Kennedy Town has always been a perfect mix between modern and traditional. While the MTR has certainly introduced a certain element of buzz to the neighbourhood, we find that Kennedy Town still offers a piece of that slow life that is hard to come by in a city like Hong Kong. The popularity of this residential neighbourhood among both locals and expats has kept the property prices in Kennedy Town on the high-end despite economic turbulence. Luckily, the availability of co-living options have opened up the opportunity for young professionals to explore and experience living in this waterfront neighbourhood.

With neighbours as cool as these, why wouldn’t you want to live in Kennedy Town? Find your home with Habyt. View fully-furnished, whole apartments and rooms for rent in Hong Kong.
