Berlin, 04.05.2022 – Habyt, world’s largest co-living operator based in Berlin, is securing its seventh building in the capital, located at the northern shore of Rummelsburger See an exclusive and sought-after location, neighboring the up-and-coming Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. With this latest lease, Habyt is consistently continuing its global growth strategy. Most recently, the company also announced its expansion into the Asian market, through a merger with Hmlet - the biggest Asia Pacific flexible living company.
Investa Real Estate is developing a new plot in cooperation with Groth Gruppe. The project called “My Bay” consists of three separate buildings with different use types. Habyt signed a lease for one of the buildings with approx. 8,500 m2 on a long-term basis.
The development under construction consists of 236 units total - 144 short-, mid- and long-term units, operated as serviced-apartments, and further 12 flats with 92 co-living rooms. The building is equipped with spacious common areas, co-working and commercial spaces. The outdoor terrace with a courtyard and a garden serve as recreational areas. A direct access to the Rummelsburger Bucht and lake views highlight the quality of life at this location, emphasizing the benefits of the stay.
These benefits make it a highly desirable location for Habyt’s community of tenants that consists of young professionals and digital nomads. The completion of the project is set for Q2 to Q3 2023.
With co-living buildings in Mitte, Wedding, Moabit and Friedrichshain, Habyt will soon operate another building in a district that is particularly popular amongst young people.
Luca Bovone, CEO of Habyt: “We are looking forward to expanding our German portfolio and to integrating and actively contributing to the neighborhood. Continuing our global expansion, we have just announced our entry into the Asian market, and in the next few months we will also be opening further locations in Lisbon, Milan and Frankfurt am Main."
Lennard Istel, Executive Director Transactions at Investa Development GmbH: "Habyt's concept is aimed at young professionals, students, digital nomads and perpetual travelers who live modern, flexible and central, but at the same time want to be part of a community and network. In our project, beyond meeting all current sustainability criteria, we placed special emphasis on excellent connectivity for digital access to the property, as well as generous community spaces where residents interact at meeting spaces to enable sustainable and ESG-compliant usability. With Habyt, we have found the right operator for our project at this great location"
