Leipzig is generally considered more affordable compared to other major German cities like Berlin, Munich, or Frankfurt. Housing costs, in particular, tend to be lower, making it an attractive option for students, young professionals, and families. While prices have risen slightly in recent years due to the city's growing popularity, Leipzig still offers a good balance of affordability and quality of life. Groceries, dining, and public transportation are also reasonably priced, helping residents maintain a comfortable lifestyle without the high living expenses found in larger metropolitan areas.

Operated by Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB), the system includes trams, buses, and regional S-Bahn trains, making it easy to travel within the city and to nearby areas. With various ticket options and a bike-friendly system, getting around Leipzig is convenient and accessible.
