The cost of living in Turin is generally considered to be quite reasonable, especially when compared to other major cities in Italy.
The Turin Metro, tram network, and buses are the primary means of transportation in Turin. The city is also connected to surrounding towns by regional trains, with Turin's main railway stations, Porta Nuova and Porta Susa, serving as hubs for regional and national train services.
Although Italy has no statutory minimum wage, workers receive around €7 to €9 per hour.
From the iconic Mole Antonelliana, which offers beautiful panoramic views of the city and the surrounding Alpes, to the Piazza Castello and the Superga Hill, there’s a lot to explore in Turin. The city is not only famous for its cultural heritage but also for its chocolate, so be sure to treat yourself to some gianduiotto, a local specialty made with hazelnut chocolate, or enjoy a hot chocolate at Café Al Bicerin, one of the oldest cafés in Turin.
As a student moving to Turin you may need several documents including proof of identity, proof of enrollment, and proof of income or financial support at hand. You may also need to provide an employment contract and visa or residence permit, if applicable.
